ENTEBBE: Motorsport ace Ronald Sebuguzi was last night declared the winner of the round 2 Enduro Autocross championship 2019 after pulling exactly 10.00 minutes closely followed by new entrant Rajiv Ruparelia with 10.44 while Jonas Kansiime in third place with 10.50 respectively.
The colourful event despite a heavy morning downpour on Sunday resulted in delayed start of the event at Zion Estates in Ssisa sub country Entebbe sub district Wakiso district that attracted 21 riders with majority 19 reaching finishing line.
The clerk of the course Joe Burua told Elgon dailly sports desk last Sunday night shortly after announcing the results that the event was a blast despite the heavy morning downpour that led to a late start however he exclusively thanked Zion Estates management for offering the grounds for the event.
Burua said the event organised by Enduro Uganda was round 2 of the series that saw 12 Enduro riders, 6 4×4 vehicles and 21 auto cross competitors of which show was worn by Ronald Sebuguzi,followed closely by new entrant Rajiv Ruparelia with Jonas Kansiime emerging third respectively.
“These series are good because they help test man and machines and also good picnic atmosphere for the funs who turned up in big numbers despite the persistent heavy downpour “observed Burua adding that they also welcome Rajiv into their family and wishing him the best future inside the profession of rally drivers.
He noted that the show brought together top drivers in the land including Sebuguzi, Kansiime alongside riders like Sam Bamulesewa, Cymon Chanly in the autocross and not forgetting the massive 4×4 vehicles that are a good attraction to the funs however he predicted that the 3rd edition of the Enduro would be challenging as the club intends to go into new routes.
Sebuguzi in his joyful mood after grabbing the cup thanked his funs for the massive support and also congratulated Rajiv for shocking everybody to emerge 2nd place saying that result is important at such a moment for new rally entrant.
Rajiv in his brief remarks after receiving his trophy and certificate of merit thanked all his funs for the massive turn up and the generous support and encouragement from the rally drivers fraternity including the media saying he has become even more stronger.
”We would like to thank the event organisers, the funs and the media for the generous support of which I tactfully rallied on to emerge second overall” noted the beaming young billionaire.
He pointed out that by becoming second overall in such a highly competitive event with tough and battle hardened names like Sebuguzi and colleagues is not an easy task but takes an investment of ideas and schemes of learning lessons to achieve this prize.
