Nakawa Mayor warns External job exporters

Many innocent young people are getting killed every time abroad specifically those seeking employment opportunities in the Middle East and some sections of leaders put the blame on incompetent external job recruiting companies.

The mayor of Nakawa division Eng.RonaldBalimwezohas threatened those companies that abuse the rules while recruiting Ugandans to go and work in the Middle East that he would arrest those officers and prosecute them without further notice.

Balimwezo made the remarks this week while addressing over 2,000 people who are undergoing a week-long training workshop organized by Enterprise Uganda running at LugogoMulwana hall under their BEST project module.

He lamented that reports are rife in the media indicating that more young Ugandans are being killed in the Middle East after being trafficked by some unscrupulous organizations.

He said they are encouraging their people to stay back and instead use the money they spend in tickets to take up courses from Enterprise Uganda so that they can start up own businesses.

The Enterprise Uganda marketing executive Ineka Judith in her presentation to the participants encouraged them not to look at government for jobs but use training opportunities created by her agency to start up smallholder businesses of which should grow as long as they respect the rules of the game.

When Elgondailly news pressed her to advise the president on how best young people can be economically empowered, she urged Mr.Museveni to stop dishing out cash to the youth because it has the potential of corrupting them morally.

“Am encouraging my dear president to stop the culture of dishing out cash to young people but instead support our strategy of empowering them with both basic and financial skills before taking own individual decisions how to run their business ventures.

Judith said the youth should not just walk to the bank for loans without understanding the aftermath implications but undertake their training programs to inform good decision making for positive outcomes.

“Enterprise Uganda continues to offer high-quality specialized training packages to all segments of people with a venue to skill them and allow them an opportunity to prosper on their own” noted Judith.

Enterprise Uganda is a government body under the ministry of finance with a mandate to offer specialized business entrepreneurship skills training programs for various categories of people among them University students, jua kaalu youth groups, women and organized corporate groups among others.
