Retired Teacher in Bushenyi Arrested Over Forgery

Police in Bushenyi district have arrested a 40-year-old former teacher of Kitwe Primary school over allegations of forgery.

Justus Turyamureba who retired in 2014 is accused of submitting forged documents to the office of the Chief Administrative Officer Bushenyi.

According to Bushenyi District Chief Administrative Officer Malik Mahaba, Turyamureba a resident of Mitooma district retired following several complaints of sexual harassment against him.

Mahaba says Turyamureba was given his retirement package but after a new CEO was posted to the district, he forged payslips and submitted documents indicating that he was still in active service and went ahead to demand for arrears of 4.6 million shillings.

Turyamreba has since then received over 20 million shillings from the district illegally.

Greater Bushenyi regional police spokesperson Martial Tumusiiime says that Turyamureba is in police custody and investigations into the matter are underway.
