2,260 graduate at IUI as Museveni salutes Rector Ssengendo

President Museveni has commended the rector of the Mbale based Islamic University in Uganda [IUIU] Dr.Ssengendo with his team for steering the University to grater horizon saying his government was impressed by its steady progress.

The president remarks were contained in his speech read out by the 2nd deputy prime minister and minister for East Africa community affairs [MEACA] alhajji Ali Kirunda Kivejinja during their 29th graduation ceremony for this University on Saturday in Mbale were a total of 2,261 students scooped certificates, diplomas and degrees reactively.
Museveni said he remembers very well having presided over the first graduation of this place way back in 1991 were a paltry 80 pioneer students graduated of whom only 12 girls saying it gives him courage that the facility that is jointly owned by the government of Uganda and Organization of the Islamic conference [OIC] was progressed well.
His eminence the Mufti of Uganda sheikh Ramathan Mubajje was among the high profile guests during the colorful event .
He said his government would fulfill its pledge of surveying the last balance of 82 acres of land along river Namatala in Mbale to complete their total pledge of 300 acres and also purchase and deliver the promised two brand new buses respectively.
Rector Ssengendo commended both all the technical and logistical support rendered to his University by s several friends around the world saying the support had enabled them make positive strides in they right direction of development.
