Bright Gishu girl heads to Korea to study Nuclear  Science

Mercy Nandutu 23 is a young girl born in Bumwalokani village Bupoto sub county, Namisindwa district who has shocked the World when she excelled in studies and has just landed herself a scholarship to study a masters degree in  Nuclear power plant  in South Korea courtesy of Arlington Academy of Hope [AAH].

CONGRATULATIONS MERCY ; Mr. John Wanda delivering his official speech during the celebrations,he unveiled Mercy Nandutu donning the  Makerere University gown to the congregation.

The shocking development came to light recently during celebrations to mark 15 years of the existence of Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) in Bududa district were the co founder of this highly successful schools and health centres project Mr.John Wanda unveiled Mercy to the public.

Wanda donning Makerere University gowns  told hundreds of parents that Mercy was spotted by his organization because of her excellent performance at all levels  in class leading to scooping this golden opportunity perhaps the first ever from within Uganda.

Wanda said they  have so far offered  education bursaries to  over 1,120 bright but vulnerable or poor children so that they can tap into their individual potentials to become useful citizens of society.

Among these 450 are in primary school, 366 attending post primary education, 150 are University or tertiary level while another 153 are graduates having passed in the hands of AAH.

The director of AAH Milton Wasunguyi exclusively told Elgondailly news on the sidelines of the ceremony  that they are also educating a total of 21 children from the albino community and a further 23 children whose parents perished in the deadly landslides  communities like Bukalasi among others.

Wasunguyi explained that they are running two community based health centres one adjacent to Arlington school in Bududa while Beatrice Tierney Matuwa health centre 11  is located in Bupoto sub county Namisindwa district of which annually cumulatively offer diverse health care services to over 28,000 patients.

The vice chairman school management committee of Matuwa junior school  Bupoto Sammy Wepukhulu with his headteacher Ampumwire Amon sincerely thanked the Americans for choosing to build the school and a health centre within that area saying it was a sign of high respect to the fraternity of Ugandan children both in  education and healthcare services.

The locals of Bupoto sub county and surrounding communities through their area member of parliament Hon.Apollo Masika and  LC5 George Wopuwa lauded the American friends of John Wanda and wife Joyce for strategically keeping their people deep into their hearts of hearts saying the Almighty God should reward them abundantly especially Prof. James J. Angel from Georgetown  University USA and wife Amy.
