Covid19; Rugunda appreciates Kihurankuba donation to Bushenyi locals

As the Covid19 lockdown takes its toll on the population across the country, locals of Bushenyi district are celebrating after their very own son extended an olive branch to them in terms food.

Mr.Nkamuhayo Nkuba popularly known as Kihurankuba donated a consignment of 6tonnes or 6,500 KGS of high quality maize flour towards the fight against the Corona virus of which he handed over to the minister of state in the office of prime minister in charge of general duties Mary Karooro Okurut on the 23rd April in Kampala.

Patrick Katto of Native power who delivered the food said their interest was to have 1,300 bags of maize flour distributed to the locals in the two sub counties of Nyabubare and Ruhumuro in Bushenyi district.

The balance be retained by the national response fund to Covid19 to be distributed to those needy persons like the medical teams on the front line in combating the pandemic.

Prime minister Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda thanked  Kihurankuba for the timely donation saying they would honor his request and ensure that the vulnerable people in those sub counties are given the food.

He urged the locals of Bushenyi to remain at home and ensure that  they wash their hands at all times to avoid getting infected with the deadly corona virus.
