Taxi industry chiefs donate 5m/= to Covid-19

The minister of general duties office of prime minister Hon.Mary Karooro Okurut has commended the leadership of the country’s taxi industry for donating generously to the Covid-19 fund.
Karooro made the remarks recently while receiving a humble contribution of 5m/= from the leaders of the Inter taxi parks and stages Kampala district in Kampala as support towards the fund.

She thanked the group chairman Mr.Kalifani Musajjalumbwa with his strong delegation for the timely donation saying as the number of corona virus cases increase; it corresponds with basic needs required during isolation and treatment.
The delegation comprising of Mustafa Mayambala, who leads Uganda transport development Association (UTRADA), Ssendisa Patrick among others urged the fund to use the money in buying food for the needy population.
They thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for taking strong measures and efforts in curbing the spread of the corona virus in the country and used the opportunity to urge the entire population to stay home, stay safe and observe the social distancing guidelines of the ministry of health as well as washing hands frequently.
