Nile fishing company donates Speed boat to Covid-19 fight

The government has received a brand new 60 horse power [HP] motorised fibre glass speed boat and two bikes to ease in the transportation of possible corona virus patients that might be identified among the Islands of Lake Victoria.

The procurement manager at Nile fishing company Francis Asiimwe on behalf of his team said as people dealing in the water sector transport, they took a decision to donate the 60HP speed boat, two motor cycles, 80 cartons of drinking water and life jackets among other items so that it can help transport possible Covid-19 patients from among the Islands to the main land.

In appreciation to the donation, the prime minster Rt.Hon.Dr.Ruhakana Rugunda thanked Nile fishing company for the strategic donation saying it was the first of its kind among all donated goods and it would go a long way in easing emergency transportation of possible Covid-19 patients that may require emergency evacuation to the main land.

Dr. Rugunda in company of his fund team including minister Mary Karooro Okurut and fund chairman Eng.Emmanuel Katongole jointly said the speed boat would do a great job in transporting any corona virus patients deep from the Lake Victoria Islands of Kalangala district and surrounding places.
