UK Diaspora Ugandans donate food to Covid-19

KAMPALA

Ugandans living and working in the Unoted Kngdom have made their humble donation of food to the national response fund to Covid-19 as requested by the president.

While handing over the 1.5 tonnes of high quality maize flour to the general duties minister office of the prime minister office Mary Karooro Okurut recently, the coordinator of the group Major. Julius Rubahimbya with his powerful delegation said much as the UK had also declared a 12 week lockdown due to the corona virus attack, the few members available raised some funds to buy the food.

Rubahimbya pointed out that they wish to have their donation go to street kids who had been placed in strategic shelters like Nakivubo blue primary school among five other places as the country went on the lockdown.

The minister thanked the delegation for the donation saying others should emulate them and make their mark by donating all kind of items that can benefit the corona virus patients among quarantine sites.
