Talikaza wants the Iganga woman MP slot

The voters of Iganga district have vowed to send Rebecca Talikaza to parliament on the NRM party ticket because of her progressive projects like the popular skilling the youth and women among others.
This development came to light on Friday when Rebecca picked her nomination forms at the Kyadondo based NRM party electoral commission offices ready to tussle it out with any other candidate during the upcoming NRM party primaries.
She told Elgondailly news shortly after picking nomination papers that the voters of Iganga have urged her to contest and would win given her good manifesto.
BENEFITS OF FREE SKILLS LEADING TO WEALTH CREATION’ These are the chalks product made locally by the youth and women groups of Iganga for self economic empowerment under the project spearheaded by Rebecca.
‘Am confident my people of Iganga shall vote for me because of the many community based projects that I have undertaken like empowering the local groups with vocational skills training in professions like tailoring, confectionery, knitting, chalk making among others which have boosted their income levels despite the Covid-19 lockdown’ noted Rebecca.
She pointed out that once elected as new woman Member of Parliament, her roles shall be to lobby government and development partners to bring new projects to Iganga as a deliberate strategy of bringing services closer to the population.
EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES; Talikaza demonstrating to the members one of the Iganga district community how to make products locally that can earn them money to fight both household poverty.
Some of the areas of focus include boosting education for all, ensuring that health facilities in the district have personnel and equipped with medicines, clean water, and protection of human rights for vulnerable persons among other services.
